Study of supplier and supply management:

Introduction:
Some SME contacted us and requested that we conduct a study of supplier and supply management especially identifying the practices and requirements of foreign buying organizations.
The SME wished us to develop guidelines for them to upgrade themselves. They wished to enhance their business prospects with a view to targeting buyers who recognize value and thereby move themselves away from the low end cut throat market.

Methodology:
Part A: Interviews were conducted with Buyers and Manufacturers on issues and challenges:
Part B: A study of common practices of US and European purchasing organizations was conducted.
Part C: Interviews were conducted with Third Party Inspection and Assessment companies to ascertain their common findings concerning manufacturers.

Deliverable: An eBooklet on the study of supplier and supply management had been prepared.

Aims of eBooklet:
1. To provide useful information to smaller overseas buyers who cannot afford to have a buying office in Far East.
2. To provide useful information to manufacturers who wish to target buyers who recognize value.
